The thing with glasses is that they were invented so that they help the people with poor eyesight in performing activities like the rest of the members of society. In the past, not seeing (well) could mean the difference between life and death.

This may be the reason why most of the people with poor eyesight were discriminated and became outcasts. Of course, the invention of lenses helped people seeing. But they were “unnatural” inventions. They looked funny on the nose and did not help the self esteem of the people who wore them.

However, technology progressed and so did mentalities. People began to understand the role of such tools and to accept them, and the ones that wore them. But, your glasses are not a part of you. You need to understand this! They are something that people invented in order to help others that have sight problems.

It is very important to take your glasses off every now and then in order to improve eyesight. If you really require them to see, take them off for about 10-30 minutes per day, preferably in natural, indirect light. Even if you don’t wear glasses, go outside and enjoy some natural light and fresh air. Let your vision roam free, in a natural environment.

Let your eyes relax and absorb natural light, not light filtered through glass or plastic or artificial light. Natural light is essential for eye and brain health. Defocus, if you are tired or overworked. Expose your eyes to natural light. Massage them a bit. Get a massage from a friend or a specialist. You might not have known but neck muscles have a very important role when talking about eyestrain and other eye problems.

Natural eye improvement books are at your disposal and are very much useful, containing exercises and techniques that you can perform at home. Among others, one worthy such book is the Eye Knows book.

Breathe deeply and relax. While you’re following these steps for building eye health, take some time to breathe more deeply. Oxygen is the stuff of life. Oxygenated tissues have greater vitality. So if you’re out getting some natural light in your eyes, and drinking carrot juice…you might take a walk and consciously breathe a little more deeply.

Breathing exercises have lots of benefits, so you might take 8-20 minutes of your time every day for breathing and relaxation techinques.

Natural light is essential for eye and brain health. Even if your vision doesn’t improve significantly, vision exercises and eye relaxation techniques are beneficial for a variety of other reasons. They reduce the amount stress your eyes handle. Vision stress is an underlying cause of many unpleasant eyesight disorders. It is simple: less stress allows you to see things clearer. By lowering vision stress you delay the onset of various eyesight conditions or slow down the progression of vision disorders you already have.

So my advice to you is: build up healthy vision habits. You may not only expect an improvement of your eyesight but an improvement in the way you usually treat your body (and eyes).
